Initial meeting focused on introductions, getting familiar with the grantee/ operations, and finalizing the problem statement.
WestCare:
- is visiting the school during lunch time twice a week. School typically has 2,000 students but is currently operating on a modified schedule due to COVID. Grantee has about 60-90 students on days they visit- it is two different groups of students on the different days. (i.e. seeing 60-90 kids once a week.)
- Is waiting on IRB approval. They have been visiting the school to build repour but have not yet provided lessons.
- There are 13 lessons- 45 mins each. They wanted to a hybrid model, however, students receiving in-person instruction do not have access to laptops/ reliable connection/ the tech skills.
- Has used CQI process in the past/ familiar with the process
- Previous use of CQI was later on in the grant, data sources were more obvious. May need to develop ways to collect data
- Stated goal: to get students recruited and keep them engaged so that they complete the program. Feel as though it would be best to do so in person.
Next steps:
- WestCare will complete Table C1. in CQI template
- Public strategies/ Mathematica will share in-person/ virtual status of other grantee’s
