  • Recap discussion from last call
  • Check in on strategy implementation plan
    • Have you worked out details of the youth social media plan?
      • Yes
      • See template below for answers
  • If time, develop learning questions for the road test of the strategy
    • What are the algorithms? What times are best to post? Where is the best to post? Questions revolved around the technicality of using the apps and the level of engagement each app can provide
      • Social Media Analytics
      • Instagram and TikTok for the youth
        • Facebook for the adults, but focusing on youth for this effort
    • What are the best ways to get the group involved? What is the role for these new ambassadors?
    • How can we entice the youth to listen on their own accord?
  • If time, discuss data collection opportunities to respond to learning questions
  • Next steps and plan for cross-grantee call

If they HAVE thought through details:

Mobilizing youth, have a new hire from one of the youth groups. He will be starting social media group and physical outreach. They have their main social media page with a possible new page with other groups to get more kids to notice them.

  • How will you identify the youth ambassadors? (*I’m not sure that they’re using this term, but I saw it in the FYSB guide)
    • Joe (new hire) was picked from the group because of his age and how he led others. Natural leadership.
    • Looked for ambassadors with most experience and favor towards the program.

  • How will you prepare them for the role? What kind of training will you provide? What will you cover in the training? Do you have guidelines for what is OK versus no OK to post (e.g., pictures of participants)?
    • Training by necessity, he will learn what he doesn’t know if he asks.
    • Everything he posts, Jasline will QA
    • He will be trained in Love Notes as well

  • What expectations do you have for the youth ambassadors? For example, how often should they post? How will they promote engagement with content? What types of things might they post about? For example, what’s happening in the program; facts about healthy relationships/abstinence; tips; relevant news.
    • Consistent, but not specific.
    • First thing is creating the content. Then A&B testing to see what is working.

  • Who will monitor youth content?
    • Jasline and Brandon will check in on the ambassadors.

  • If you have more than one youth ambassador, how will they share duties?
    • Social media will be the same, just increased per youth ambassador.

  • How will youth be rewarded for the role (e.g., if you can’t compensate them, is this a role they could put on their resume?)
    • Joe is now an employee; he is hired and will receive payment.
