    Toolkit 3: Analysis and reporting

This toolkit includes 10 resources for grant recipients to use when analyzing data and reporting findings from an implementation evaluation. The resources cover analysis methods, dissemination strategies, and using findings from an implementation evaluation in program decision making.

    Resource Description
Qualitative Analysis How to Guide This resource provides a step-by-step guide on analyzing qualitative data systematically and reporting findings. Mathematica developed this tip sheet for the Office of Population Affairs at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
What Does Qualitative Coding Look Like? Qualitative Research Methods This video summarizes how to organize and sort qualitative data from interviews, focus groups, and observations. It also presents strategies for ensuring that qualitative analysis is rigorous, transparent, and thorough. Duke University developed the video.
Analysis Plan Template This SRAENE-developed resource is a template for an analysis plan for an implementation evaluation. The template has sections for information on research questions, data sources and outcome measures, analytic approach, and plans for reporting and dissemination.
Compiling Implementation Evaluation Findings Across Data Sources This SRAENE-developed resource provides tips on how to use multiple data sources to answer research questions for an implementation evaluation. It also presents considerations for interpreting findings that differ across data sources.
Final Report Template This SRAENE-developed resource is a template for writing a final report that summarizes the findings from an implementation evaluation. The template has sections for an introduction, description of the program as intended, the implementation evaluation design, findings, and conclusion.
How to Write a Winning Abstract This resource presents advice on how to write abstracts for presentations or papers that successfully convey the necessary information. RTI International developed this resource for the Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB), HHS.
Data Visualization: Simple Design, Impactful Message This tip sheet describes what data visualization is, why data visualization can be useful, and what resources are needed to visualize data. In a related presentation, slides 15 to 25 provide tips for data visualizations, along with examples of different types of figures. Child Trends developed these resources for FYSB, HHS.
Sharing Your Program Success with the World: Innovative Dissemination Strategies This tip sheet provides lessons learned from the field on effectively disseminating findings. It also includes innovative approaches for dissemination, including video interviews, data walks, and social media. RTI International developed this resource for FYSB, HHS.
Social Media Toolkit This toolkit provides tips and best practices for developing a social media plan and determining which platform to post information on. RTI International developed this resource for FYSB, HHS.
Learn How to Assess If Your Program Is Ready for an Impact Evaluation This SRAENE-developed resource guides organizations as they consider whether their program is ready for an impact evaluation. The resource highlights how organizations could use findings from an implementation evaluation to decide whether to conduct an impact evaluation.
