SRAENE develops resources to support SRAE grant recipients in managing the performance of their programs using data and evidence. Performance management includes program monitoring and continuous quality improvement (CQI). Program monitoring documents what is happening in a program. CQI is a way to use that information for improvement by systematically developing and testing solutions. The CQI resources here primarily emerged from a pilot to build the CQI capacity of eight grant recipients, who received support using the resources and informed refinements to the materials.
Program Monitoring
These resources provide information about tracking and reviewing data to assess whether your program is moving in the right direction.
Setting the foundation: Creating a learning culture
These resources can help grant recipients understand the language used to describe CQI and, gauge their starting place, and look for opportunities to strengthen work already underway.
Creating a team to lead improvement efforts
The CQI team is responsible for overseeing improvement efforts in the program. To learn more about who should be on it and what the team does, check out the resources below.
Conducting CQI cycles
These resources introduce one approach to conducting CQI. This approach includes a template to guide teams through planning and implementing CQI, as well as separate resources to support each step in the CQI cycle.
Step 1: Planning for CQI
Describe a current challenge.
Step 3: Road testing
Try the strategy on a small-scale and learn how to improve.
Step 5: Implementing
Monitor progress toward your goal.
