WestCare has been busy and unable to focus on the CQI pilot. They have not yet selected a strategy. They think recruitment will be difficult to focus on because it is the end of the school year. They do run a summer program. SPR/ Mathematica suggested the option of focusing on recruitment for their summer program.

WestCare is still deciding on whether to focus on engagement or enrollment.

      • Meeting went well. A lot of these sites are still in the planning phase. Some did not receive critical information from site directors about the entry/exit surveys.

  • Issue is making sure sites are following protocols for data. Barrier was introduction of information caused by virtual environment. Her challenge was trying to translate this to her subgrantees who are not providing as much as pre-pandemic times.

1. Youth Ambassador strategy – We can use the first part of the call to check in on your progress and work on any implementation challenges you might have.
   • Chelisa had the children create a small scene of characters using pre-generated avatars representing relationships
   • She shared the scenarios with her group and asked them to decide if the scenarios depicted unhealthy, healthy, or abusive relationships
2. Thomas’ strategy on alcohol

• Overview of data collection plan
  • Using same student survey for all students during current cohort for measurement. For future cohorts, they will be using comparison groups (e.g. one group has youth coordinators, one does not. One uses Intervention A, other uses Intervention B). They will then give surveys out afterward and review data to see which is the most effective.

• Start of call/Discussion of talks with another grantee
  • Met with another grantee to discuss creating a virtual college tour. Grantee gave them ideas on how to create banners, packages, supplies, ideas, etc. on how to conduct tour.

    • From Shanta, the breakout sessions were very engaging and a nice change. Lisa thinks they are great because she can learn about what other groups are doing.
