ACAC team updated us on the status of their strategy. We had talked about finalizing the road test in June, but strategy implementation was taking longer than expected, so we agreed to spend our final calls reviewing the last two steps in the template (even though they wouldn't be at the point of analyzing yet). Team was ready to wrap up participation in June, but saw value in this approach (e.g., road testing) so said they would reach out if they needed support in continuing to use the template.

This call was just Dr. Clemons, as Monica had a conflict. We developed a tangible improvement goal with Dr. Clemons that the team can use to gauge success and then review potential learning questions with her to get her thoughts on what she hoped to learn from the road test. 

Our team recapped what we've discussed so far related to the road test, and then walked ACAC through how they might complete the final two steps in the road test (analysis and monitoring improvement). We also discussed pilot feedback questions with the team. 

We reviewed suggested learning questions and a data collection plan with FLON. We also discussed post-pilot feedback questions to gather their thoughts on the pilot/template. 

Their road testing of the youth ambassador strategy has been going well - students are engaged and learning. They will use steps 3 and 4 in the template to document how they will collect data systematically. Right now, it is just one person doing observations to collect data, but it could be other people in the future. We also gathered feedback from the grantee about their experiences with CQI and the pilot. They did have previous CQI efforts but they were not streamlined. They also have enjoyed using the template for this pilot.

The purpose of the meeting was to plan the road test and assess results. The grantee was able to implement their strategy by getting one of their current teachers to reach out to potential recruits. However, they only received one response. The grantee was surprised that they teacher outreach strategy didn't yield more responses. It could be because they didn't receive the email. In terms of next steps, the grantee said they do not have time for another road test.

The purpose of the call was to identify improvement strategy and develop a testing plan. The grantee had attended a convention recently and was able to collect contact information of interested teachers. They also were able to identify current teachers who are willing to help contact and recruit new teachers. For next steps, the grantee will reach out to current teachers who are willing to help recruit. They will also identify learning questions and a data collection plan and begin road testing. 

The grantee said that they wanted to improve communication with potential recruits to try to reach out to them quicker after they've expressed interest. They are interested in utilizing current teachers to recruit new teachers. The grantee is also trying to recruit teachers for their summer sessions which start in June. They would need 20 teachers by the end of May. Roseana and I encouraged them to identify root causes of the problem.

We discussed the strategies they currently use, such as using games to evaluate if they're understanding the materials. They shared that some of the materials have out dated references, but they're usually able to update the power points. Annie and I proposed that they could do an exit ticket to collect data about how students are feeling about the lessons. however, one of the facilitators has such strong relationships with students that they are able to collect and understand where students are.
